Phi Phi Islands, approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes east of Phuket, include Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Lei, Koh Bida Nok and Koh Bida Nai. The only inhabited place in this group is Phi Phi Don. White sandy beaches, limestone caverns, and clear blue water are the main attraction of the Phi Phi Islands (also famous for being the location for the film, The Beach). Most of the dive sites in this area offer interesting underwater landscapes such as swim-through, great overhung walls and boulder crevices. The resident marine life include leopard sharks, black-tip reef sharks, turtles and schooling barracudas. You also will find some reef fish common only in this area such as Blue ring Angel Fish. Extra action can be seen on a dive are leopard sharks mating, seasonal whale sharks and small stuff like seahorses, ghost pipefish. |
